Steven Van Steenhuyse has served as Mason City's Director of Development Services since 2012. With a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa, Steven brings decades of experience in city planning across Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. He is passionate about downtown development and historic preservation and currently chairs the Legislative and Policy Committee for the Iowa Chapter of the American Planning Association[1].

This special fellowship event will feature Rotary District Directors who will help kick off the new membership year. The session will focus on strengthening club engagement, welcoming new members, and sharing district-wide initiatives that align with Rotary’s mission of service and leadership.

Hope Winkler is a Development Manager at Ranger Power, a leading utility-scale solar energy developer. She plays a key role in advancing community-focused renewable energy projects across the Midwest. Hope is known for her commitment to transparency, sustainability, and building strong local partnerships that support clean energy and economic growth [4].

Jennifer Pommrehn is the Chairperson for the AFSP Out of the Darkness North Iowa Walk.

She will be sharing her own story regarding suicide as well as informing us about AFSP and the walk.

Cerro Gordo County Supervisor Chris Watts, Cerro Gordo County Planning and Zoning member Heidi Marquardt and local farmer Joe McGrath will speak on the CG ordinance that placed a moratorium on wind and solar here in the county

He will be speaking on the new Community Crisis Response Team (CCRT) that is a collaboration with 43 NI, Prairie Ridge, Mason City, Cerro Gordo County and Clear Lake to better serve the mental health needs here in NI

Peter Teahen and John Ockenfels, longtime Rotarians, will share highlights of flying around the Atlantic Ocean in a 1976 Cessna 210 to raise funds and awareness for polio eradication!
