If you're newer to the Mason City area and haven't heard about Cannonball Day yet, don't worry you will! Every year towards the end of June, the Mason City Noon Rotary Club, along with the Mason City Kiwanis Club, Hy-Vee and other sponsors host a Chicken BBQ at East park. It draws thousands of visitors and it serves enough Chicken BBQ to fill a truck or two...seriously! We'll post again next year as we get closer to the 2026 event date! If you've never been to East Park - You can't miss the train!
In June of 2025 - Celebrate summer with a full day of family-friendly fun at Rotary Cannonball Day on Saturday, June 28 in East Park! The festivities begin at 9:00 AM with the Kids Fun Run, followed by a Kids Pedal Tractor Pull at 10:00 AM, a Car Show from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, and River City Kiwanis’ BBQ Chicken Dinner from 11:00 AM–6:30 PM. Enjoy balloon and spin art, inflatables, and Smokey the Train rides from 12:00–4:00 PM, plus Wayne’s Kids Bike Event during the same time. The Kids Business Fair runs from 1:00–4:00 PM, and the Bill Riley Talent Search kicks off at 1:00 PM (sign-up ends June 20).
